Opening a file with default editor?

Question

How do I open a file and send it to the default editor? E.q. if the user want to open a .doc I would use Word if that was the default editor.

Hi I don't think the above solution will work. Since doc can be open in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Word or SunOffice Word. If not mistaken he wants to open a file with a default editor Just like your PC where you set IE as your default windows browser. Cheers.

System.Diagnostics.Process wordproc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); wordproc.StartInfo = new System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo(); wordproc.StartInfo.FileName = mydoc.doc; wordproc.Start(); This opens the file with associations intact. You could also interop the native ShellExecute.
