Operating system error 123?

Question

si to all i want to backup particular database with format of date_time_filename.bak Ex:2011-10-24_12:30Pm_temp.bak when i am trying like abovei am getting 'could not open deviceoperating system error 123(syntax is wrong). error when i am getting 'date_filename.bak' formatit will comes correctly but when i am add time also i am getting above error plz help meurgent Thanks inadvance

If it were me I would not use delimiters in the filename. I would use the format YYMMDDHHMM (with a 24-hour format for the hour) for the time or something similar to that. Of course that would require that the numbers have leading zeros when the value is less than ten.

The colon(:) is a special character and is not allowed in filenames. You can replace the entire colons with '-' and try again. Regards JP
