paint program!

Question

hi i am working in a paint program...........using gdi+...and i can make lines and rectangle with the mouse like the example in the book of graphic programming with gdi+ chapter 3,4 the problem is that i wanna add the ability to select the shapes i draw by the mouse and resize them with the mouse too...like in macromedia flash ...also to make things linke group and ungroup also i wanna make undo and redo..........for drawings how can i make this? thanks for your help

You may be trying to do operations like reslecting shapes and change propertoes unto/redo actions etc. To do this you may want to create an array of objects which stores objects (including size location z-order etc) and when you click you need to figure out what image was selected. After that you can change image by adding selection or soemthing and on mouse move you have to move the selected image as well. Hope it helps.

hi first thanks too much for your help and for your book which i found it talking about topic rarly to find other books on it will i see the example u mean in chapter 34 but what i want that after drwaing the shape i can select it again and resize it or change it color .....not doing that before i draw if this example exist in the source code please tell me where to find it thanks for your help

Graphics Programming with GDI+ book also has a sample of GDI+Painter application which allows you to select objects (rectanbles circles lines) etc set their width and colors and draw them on mouse events. You can implement Redo/Undo by storing object actions in an array and based on Undo/Redo you can duplicate the operations.
