Parse PDF document to Excel sheet in C#

Question

Hi Team I am struggling for PDF to Excel conversion. Below is my requirement: I need to read the PDF document and capture the values from the PDF file and create an excel sheet for the same with values. I have tried PDFBox also ITextSharp tool however I am able to create the falt file from PDF . but the data are not in a key value manner the data are scattered in the file. So please help me on this. This is very urgent .. please help on this.. looking for your reply.. Cheers.. Auro

Hi Aurosish Here you may find third-party: SDK to convert PDF to Excel . You will integrate it into your project and can read tables from PDF and save them into Excel-Spreadsheet using C#. Hope this helps Max

Hi i don't know weather you can see this reply still i want to say something. i've met the similar problem before and i found some useful imformation on PDF to image sdk you can got detailed imformation on it. it's really helpful. Good Luck!

Janis I have tried your code however it just created one new PDF file with same data inside my project bin\Debug\ folder .. so how can I get the field wise details from the PDF .. ? Please help me out .. Thanks in Advance ..

Hi Janis Let me clear you my requirement. I have a PDF with Invoice data and I need to capture different fields like Invoice Number Invoice Date  Order # Order Amount .. details from PDF and populate one excel sheet with this data. Hi Janis I have tried the PDFSharp component  how ever I am not able to parse the fields  also not able to capture different section from the PDF. You have to check out PDFsharp - http://pdfsharp.com/PDFsharp/  a .NET library for processing pdf files. I would recommend writing a quick prototype with it and then use QuickWatch to explore the structure (sections paragraphs etc) of your pdf files to find the data you need. To get the data into Excel there are two options available that I know of Office Interop and ADO.NET. The ADO option will give you database-like access to the excel worksheets (not a real good option if you are importing into complex existing spreadsheets that do not match the format needed).
