We cannot in an answers forum you cannot expect us to give you an article. Instead you should search for a good blog or article that covers the basics about payment gateways. In general a payment gateway is simply a web service an API that allows you to send requests to get paid. There are many available such as PayPal Skrill etc. You need to read their documentation to learn how you can use them... We cannot help unless you specify in which gateway API you want help.
