Hi all How to get the list of IP Address of connected computers in a Network in java? How to enable sending message and file transfer from peer to peer? Thanks for reply in advance!

Using .Net or not? I assume not using .Net. So I would look at what is available in the Java classes. I would also look at the Windows API; I assume there is a way for a Java program to use the Windows API.

Do you mean how to discover network nodes? That is not easy - you would have to contact nodes by all possible IP addresses in subnet mask quite heavy solution and slow as well. You can enable receiving (not sending) files by starting the listening socket on a port and waiting for incoming connections. In that case client would connect to server and then they would exchange file content using custom protocol. Another method easier to develop but relatively inefficient is to code an XML Web service and to use that as a server which receives data from clients. Zoran
