Perform function on numbers?

Hi friends, I have a problem, suppose I enter a number say 123456 then it will give an output as 12-34-56 . How can this possible, Is their any inbuilt function for this is c# language?

If the number will always be exactly 6 digits, then you can do it more specifically with: string s = "123456"; s = String.Format("{0}-{1}-{2}", s.Substring(0,2), s.Substring(2,2), s.Substring(4,2)); Console.WriteLine(s); // 12-34-56
