Place the check box with in drop down list????

Am trying to place the checkboxes with in dropdownlistbut same code if i placed in content placeholder then it's not workingwhy??can any one help me?? why the content is not working with master page???

why do you need to place checkbox inside dropdown i think you can use listbox with multiple selection
