Please help me get started

Question

Hello everyone this is my forst post here and I wuld like to ask a very general yet very important question for me. I want to develop an application wich will have a database and a fornt end and would like to know what is the best .NET language to do so.I would like the application to have various internet capabilities such as patching the app for updates from a site for starters and other things tha I can think of. I am most thankful for all replies thank you in advance :)

Hi Let me try to answer some of your doubts! would like to know what is the best .NET language to do so --> You can use vb.net or C# or even j# or maybe cobol.net etc. It is up to you and depends on your background. If you are a java developer and still want to use .net and java syntax you can consider J#. If you are a C and Java programmer but you are considering a new language. The best is to code C#. If you are a vb6 or delphi programmer you can consider using vb.net. develop an application wich will have a database --> you can consider using ado.net. Well it is more like a technology for .net to connects to database. You can using any languages. I would like the application to have various internet capabilities such as patching the app for updates from a site --> you can simulate this. But in .net 2.0 and vs 2005 there is a concept called Zero Deployment. You can achieve this easier. Hope it helps. Cheers.
