How to create menu with an small icon in the left of the text?

Also when using icons you add the icon file to your solution and set it's biuld action property to Embedded Resource. This way you can retrieve the icon from within the application using reflection.

You can make your own menuItem control. You can set menuItem.OwnerDraw to true and handle DrawItem MeasureItem events by yourself.
