Hi Friends What is the difference between preemptive scheduling and time slicing?

With pre-emptive scheduling the task with the highest priority executes until it completes enters a waiting state or a higher priority task is created whichever is the earliest. With time-slicing a task executes for a predefined interval and is then returned to the pool until another time-slice is allocated to it. The scheduler then decides which task should execute next and allocates a time-slice to that.
