Problem in MdI form Using c#

Question

Hello every one I have big Problem in MdI form using C#. well i have one mdi form and have group box of on MDI form. if i open my other form in Mdi from then the group box in over of my other form i dont know how can i hide this control for other forms if u have any idea then let me know its too urgent hope you understand my Problem. thanks in Advance

Hi Naim Only one line is missing. You have't added the line to bind the event. Add this line. Then your code will work. private void button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { Form obj = new Form1(); obj.MdiParent = this; obj.Text = Form1; foreach (Control x in this.Controls) { string type = x.GetType().ToString(); if (!type.Equals(System.Windows.Forms.MdiClient)) x.Hide(); } obj . Friend  Here is Code with Working Example :) the above code will hide the Menu Control also If you have used it . correct way to do this is using panel as you said you want to hide then code is here for it First place all your controls on MDI form in one Panel Control and While Showing Form Hide that Panel Control So all control Will be hidden private void button1_Click( object sender EventArgs e) { this .panel1.Visible = false ; Form2 f2 = new Form2 (); f2.MdiParent = this ; f2.Show(); } and Write Code in Form_Closing Event of Every Form you show as Child Form to SHow that panel like below Here i have written code in Form2 which i m showing as ChildWindow in Form1 (MDI) private void Form2_FormClosing( object sender FormClosingEventArgs e) { Control [] Cont = this .ParentForm.Controls.Find( Panel1  false ); (( Panel )Cont[0]).Visible = true ; } I have Coded One Example Project For you take a Look Download Project Files and dont forget to mark Do you like this answer  check box :)

Hello sir i m using IsMdiContinner in C#. in my Mdicontainner fiorm have one group box when i m opening my child form also shows group box in my child form i want that whenever i open my child form groupbox should be hide it should not be come at child form and if i close my child form should be display at my IsMdiContinner form . if it is possible then please let me know. thanks in Advance

Friend  You can't add any controls that cover the MDI client window (dark-gray background). as name of MDI window it self says its parent so it has Z-Order level Higher than the child Window so you can not send that added control back side of the Child Window :) WPF does support docked controls it automatically adjusts the client area to the remaining space in the parent form. you can Solve this by One Way but there is Limitation that you can handle only one Window At a time :) or Show the Controls on MDI form into separate form without border :) or ShowForm like below Form2 f2= new Form2(); f2.ShowDialog(); Hope This Solves your Doubt :) check  Do you like this answer  check box if it helps you :)

no mam i create MDI parent and in mdi parent have lots of child foms. i put the control on my mdi's form. when i m opening my child form control comes on child form so i m just asking u how to Enable false of my mdi form's control for evry child form hope you understand mam want i want please help me i need your help thanks in advance mam...

hey Naim Sorry. I can't understand what you have said. Can you please explain it or paste your code pls.. Do you want to create a MDI container and create MDI child inside the container. rite? If it is so you can use my answer.

Form frmTemp = new Form(); frmTemp.MdiParent = this; //'this' is also a form and it's a MdiContainer frmTemp.Text = MDI Child; foreach (Control x in this.Controls) { string type = x.GetType().ToString(); if (!type.Equals(System.Windows.Forms.MdiClient)) x.Hide(); } frmTemp.Show(); Above code will hide all the controls. If you want to hide the group box only you can simply do that by below code without looping through all the controls. groupbox1.Hide();
