Problem in SQL database Server 2000

Question

good morning i am using SQL 2000 database server ,i want to copy my database from one system to another how can i do that? please help me....

Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ find data Folder there in Subfolders Look for File Whose name is matching with your database name . Copy the File and Place that Coped file on another computer's Same data Folder path .. Now Open Sql Server management Studio ..and Attach the Database file that you have pasted !!

Here are steps you could do to accomplish this for you.. (1) Detach the database using sp_detach_db. See books online for syntax. This will detach the database from the server so that you can be able to copy the data and log files to another location. (2) Copy the data and log files....., using Windows Explorer to the new drive which hosts your other SQL Server 2000. Once the files are fully copied over, you can, (3) Use Enterprise Manager on your other SQL Server 2000,(the SQL Server with the newly copied files), to create a database. Just make sure that the database name you specify for this new database is the name you want to associate with your newly copied data and log files. (4) Detach the new database created in step 3. Use sp_detach_db. (5) Attach the new database created in step 3 to pick up the data and log files you copied over in step 2. Use sp_attach_db command to do this. Method 1: take backup of ur database and then restore it in other server using restore database option.. Method 2: generate script of ur database n run it in other server but by donin this way , u will get only the structure of ur db u wont get ur data

Just Right Click on the database to which u want to transfer then->Properties->inproperties go to files in that see the path of ur db file then stop the database & Copy it to another system & attach there.
