problems running windows apps

Question

I have VS .NET 2003 and can't run windows applications. I tested it both in C# and VB. If I create a new Windows Applications add a few controls like buttons textboxes ... and try to run it I only get a blank form. If I save it close it and reopen the project I just get a blank form. If I use a working windows application made on some other computer it works as long as I don't modify it. I have reinstalled VS .NET a few times and it still doesn't work. I use Windows XP Professional Office XP (and Norton Antivirus 2003)

I'd try uninstalling all of .NET including the framework and everything else. I know I've had some problems in the past particularly when I started messing with the beta versions of Visual Studio 2005. If your existing programs work but your newly created/modified ones don't it's having trouble with some of your .DLL files (in all probability) or some configuration file has changed.
