Query regarding dataset

dear friends i have a Query regarding dataset. i came across a question how many Tables can we stored in Dataset? can any1 elaborate this topic with Example of string multiple table in dataset will be helpful. Regards Aamir

Actually Suthish the maximum number of DataRows per DataTable is 'only' 16777216 which of course is 2 ^ 24. No idea why but I spotted it in the documentation when I was checking the DataTables limit: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.datatable.aspx

Around 2 billion 2^32 rows inside a DataTable and 2^32 tables inside a DataSet. But having so many tables in dataset is not a good approach. You need a better normalization and good design for data manupulation.

Every DataSet has a Tables collection which stores all the DataTables added to it. In theory a DataSet can have a maximum of 2147483647 DataTables in this collection but you'd have run out of memory well before then :)
