Hi all Suppose there is a employee table having columns empidempnamesalary respectively. I need the employee name who is getting 2nd3rd highest salary. Thanks

Try this it should work. select n.empsalary from ( select o.empsalary RANK () OVER ( order by empsalary desc ) as ranking from Employee group o) n where n.empsalary 2 ;

Thanks karthick But in oracle there is no top operator so how to do it.It works fine in Sql server 2005.
