Hello I have a question about Server.Transfer and Response.Redirect. Which is best to use from the click event of a button? I want to go to another page. Thanks Zack

Server.Transfer will maintain the values of the implicit objects. As per MSDN server.transfer is more efficient.. It depends on your specific requirements.

Server.Transfer is executed server-side and then client doesn't know about redirect (the address bar won't be updated) Response.Redirect causes client to make a new request to new location.

if you use Server.Transfer(SomeWebForm.aspx); make sure the page is another Web Forms page (.aspx page) in the same application. You cannot use Server.Transfer to redirect to an .asp or .asmx page. You can use Response.Redirect to point to other types of files make sure the URL to which you are redirecting is a full path: /files/recent/headline.html pcm
