Raise event when press Esc key

Question

Hi I want to rasie event on Esc key press i.e. Clear button event. I am using vb.net window form. Could you please suggest how can I achieve this functioanality. Thanks

If you set the form's CancelButton property to your ClearButton then that should cause the button's Click event to be raised when the Esc key is pressed by the user: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.form.cancelbutton.aspx

Setting the CancelButton property will not of itself cause the from to close and the associated events to fire. However it will cause whatever code is included in the ClearButton's Click eventhandler to execute. So if you don't want the form to close you need to ensure that you have no code in that handler which will cause it to do so.

Thanks for your reply. I did it but it raising Form_Closing event along with clear button and Event of form_Closing have code which clear object used and closed form
