Read file data and display as text?

Hi I am new to programming and want to know in simple steps (if anyone can provide me with psuedo code) how to create a form based program that reads files containing unformatted data/text and displays the data as text in the form.

How do you want to present the data retrieved from the file? What do you mean by form based? Can you give an example of what you have in mind?
