Reading strings verbatim with quotes

I am trying to create a string that contains quotes inside of it but it is not allowed. The @ symbol doesn't do it.

Thank you very much. Yes that works although I don't understand exactly why. The backslash is an escape character. So it also makes things be read verbatim?

How about this: string Identifier = \>; Will it work for you?

This is the example in VS: string test = @Ahoy! cried the captain.; This works becuase there are two matching quotes inside. I am trying to turn this into a string: > string Identifier = @>; // doesn't work :(
