Realtime logging using C#

Question

Hi I am new to C'# and would like to develop an application in which it reads data from IO and updates(realtime) it on the screen. Can any suggest me few pointers for this? R Sans

This is for desktop. We could think of data coming from socket.

Whether it is Desktop or Web? what you mean by IO here?
