refresh problem

Hello i have a problem: when the user presses the refresh button (F5) the page is submitted again and the onClick action takes place again. how can i prevent this? Thanks Dana

Hello Thank you very much for your help. My problem is that i have a button with onClick event and this event is called after every refresh. In that way the action taken in the event is executed again. The operation i'm doing in this event is adding a node record to a database. due to my problem this node is added again and again (in every refresh). Thanks again for your help Dana

Dear Dana Each time you press the refresh button your page is posted back to the server. i dont know if you have any code in your page_load event cause each time you press refresh this event is excuted. i also dont know where your onClick code is. anyway i hope this helps in the page_load event use the IsPostBack property this helps to executes the code once even if you press refresh. for example: If (Not (IsPostBack)) Then Response.Write(Application(SomeGlobalCounter)) myButton.Text = MyButton With MyDropDownList.Items .Add(Blue) .Add(red) .Add(Gray) End With End If the code in the if statement is executed once even if you press refresh i hope this helps if this doesnt help please send me more details about your code take care
