Regarding global variable in c# windows

Question

Hi to all Iam developing a c# windowform project.I need to create a global variable and this global variable used to all forms.Is it possible?How to create a global variable? Regards NagaRaju T

Hi You can do this by creating a static class and assign the value static class Global { private static string _globalVar = ; public static string GlobalVar { get { return _globalVar; } set { _globalVar = value; } } } Use it anywhere like this (it's static you don't instantiate it anywhere) GlobalClass.GlobalVar = Some value; retrieve it anywhere like this: myFormLabel.Text = GlobalClass.GlobalVar; Regards Iftikar

In program.cs add your global variable to the Program class as follows: static class Program { internal static string GlobalString = Hello global world; /// /// The main entry point for the application. /// [STAThread] static void Main() { Application.EnableVisualStyles(); Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false); Application.Run(new Form1()); } } You can now access your global variable throughout the application with the expression: Program.GlobalString

in your login form after validating the user you can assign the user details in the static class and in other form you can use the same public static class UserInfo { public static string UserName { get; set; } public static string UserPassword { get; set; } } in your login form UserInfo.UserName = User Name; UserInfo.UserPassword = User Password; in other form form1_Load() string name=UserInfo.UserName; Regards Iftikar

We have two four forms .First one is login formother are different forms.when i logged in to the project.This logged user details and date are also updated in remaining forms database tables.This was my query sir.please help me

Yes but you are using windows application and here there no session create for each user. For every user it act like individual system. Regards Iftikar
