Initially the localStorage would be null so the else block would be executed for the client. That code window.location.replace(param); Would reload the page. What did you want to do? The code sets an item in local storage and then runs the code. If this works then the problem is that you are not having anyone logged in yet. My question why are you using localStorage where you must be using cookies ?
