Remote computer

Question

Hi,

Is this possible that any video file can be sent to remote computer and run it having wcf service installed at the remote computer. This might be a dumb question but I really need to know the answer whether this is possible or not and how?

I have helped as much as I can. I have not done the type of thing you are asking for. I am hoping that someone else can help. If you do not get help, then try creating a new thread and provide all the information that was included in the additional posts that resulted from my requests for clarification. To get the best answers, spend some time looking at th articles in this web site. If you read some articles as much as you are able to and then ask questions about themthen you are much more likely to get help.

I dont know what I m missing here. But the requirement is what I stated in earlier post. And I have to write both the programs. Actually What I need is How can I do this. 1) From the server the Video will be sent with user interaction, the way how it will be sent is not yet decided, but any thought will be appreciated. 2) On the client side, the File will be accepted and played. without any user interaction. By playing I meant using the respective player. For that I think I just need to execute that file and the rest will be handled by the player already installed for that file format.

Are you going to write both programs, the server part that sends and the client part that plays? I don't know much about VideoLAN (VLC) except I use it a lot. There is probably a way for it to be used as the client, but I am sure there are many other possibilities. The solution likely depends on requirements and you have not provided us much about the requirements.

Hi Sam, Thanks for your reply, I want to send the Video file to Remote computer, and the service running on the remote computer will not just receive it but also play it without user interaction, user needs not to run it.

Welcome to C# Corner Sam. I think the answer to your question is yes, but I am not sure I understand your question. Is it your intent to write a program that executes in both computers?
