Remotely access the SQL 2008 database

Question

Hi Can anybody help me please how to access the sql database remotely? I want to access the database on the SQL Server 2008 from my computer. Iallow remote connections to the server from SLQ Server Management Studio allow the TCP/IP protocols in SQL Server Configuration Manager. I solved it by installing Service Pack 1. But thanks anyway

I think you are using VS 2008 thats the problem. SQL Server 2008 is Only supported in VS 2010.

Thank you to all of you for your help. I can access the database remotely now but when I press test connection button I get an error :This server version is not supported. Only servers up to Microsoft SQL Servers 2005 are supported.

Try connecting to that database through SQL Server Management Studio (Shortcut: Type ssms in the Run window). See the error that you get there in the Studio. That will give you a clue what is going wrong. I open Visual Studio Server explorer and click on Connect to Database (add connection) I chose data source (SQL Server name) but on Select or enter a database name in the combobox I can't see the database name. In fact no database is shown in the combobox for chosin a database and I can not connect remotely to the database
