Replace old database record with new one?

Question

I have a form that allows users to enter studentId and date of joining. These two fields are primary keys in the table. How can i replace the old record with a new record (same studentId & date of joining) in the database . Please help

Hi You said StudentId and DateOfJoining these are the two Primary Key columns. So I will suggest you while inserting record into your database first check that record for same StudentId and DateOfJoining is present in your database or not. If it is already present then delete the existing record and then you can insert new record in your database.
