report from 2 tables in crystal report

hi there i have 2 tables that i want to make report from them how can i do it ? do i need to join the 2 tables to the dataset ? plese help :=)) bye

I have found a good way to create Crystal reports is to create a database view with all the selection logic contained within it then have the Crystal Report select all from the view. If arguments are required and depending where you want the selection processing to occur (database server or client machine) you can use a proc or have Crystal report filter the results of the view for display.

mostly it depends upon your selection criteria. If the data from both the tables is to be displayed on the same report then 'join' would be perfect it all depends upon your sql query
