Requesting code by email

Question

A couple of times I have seen members requesting that code be sent them. This is happening for the purpose of getting code that has a problem that the person requesting the code wants to solve. Instead of requesting the code using email they should request that the code be uplaoded to the forum. Is there anything I should do when I see someone requesting code by email?

Yes I agree Sam. We should ask users to post everything on the forums. This is the only way they can get points. But if you or others feel they want to send code direct we can't stop them. It's just they will not get any points for this :). Also it's OK for some responsible guys like yourself to be POLICE otherwise there will be no order and people will go crazy.

Please see delete image in datagrid for an example of a member requesting code to be sent by email so only the one person gets the code instead of requesting that the code be provided for all to attempt to answer. So in other words the comment  post every thing on the forums  indicates the reasons why I asked this question. Of course if the responses are posted in the forums then that is the most important thing for helping others. My point is that the person asking the question is more likely to get the best help possible if they make the code that they are seeking help with available to everyone.

You don't understand. I am talking about messages posted in forums; I am not talking about email messages we receive. I am saying that people that want to provide answers post messages in forums and in the forum message they say please send me your code and they provide an email address for the person to send the code to. In other words they want to get the source code by email and then only they are able to see the problem and fix it. Instead of asking to get a copy of the source code and/or project by email they should request that it be uploaded to the forum. I assume you agree. I am just not sure what I should do. If I do something then people might say that I am being a police officer and it is not my job to do that.

Sam I get same requests to but I do not have time to reply individuals and I am sure most of us do not have time. I would suggest them to post every thing on the forums. It will help others too who are looking for same solutions. If somebody requests a solutions if I do not have that or plan to write the code I write it as an article and post it as an article or a blog. That helps others as well. Cheers!
