run a software

Question

I want to open a software through programming, if the software is installed in the computer.

To get the installed programs i am using ManagementObjectSearcher and ManagementObjectCollection.

Please suggest, what should i do.. next !

I just wondered whether you'd realized that you can launch another program from an existing .NET application using the System.Diagnostics.Process class. For example this code will run MS Word if it's installed and not already running: using System.Diagnostics; // ... try { // use 'friendly' name for process in this method Process[] procs = Process.GetProcessesByName(winword); if (procs.Length == 0) // word not already running so start it { Process.Start(winword.exe); } else { MessageBox.Show(Word is already running); } } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } This is much easier and faster than using WMI to start a process.
