Running process on server

Question

hi.
i have a website. what i want that user logs in and start some process so when he logs out, the process should not be stopped. it should be started on server associated with that particular user email id.
is it possible? if yes then please give me some idea how to do it

Its not a recommended practice to apply what a windows software does on web application. Revisit your logic and create a console or windows application.

I assume that you can use the Process class to start a process but ASP might not allow you to do that. If not then perhaps you can use WMI to do it. Or perhaps you can write a program that is an application that is run by itself separate from ASP that each ASP session can communicate with and that other application can do the execution of a process. There re many ways you can associate the process with the email id. If you have the source code for the other application then yo can modify that program so that it takes the email id as an argument. Or you could maintaiin a table of process ids and the associated email id.
