separate back up of MDF and LDF

Hi Friends How to take separate backup of MDF and LDF files in Sql server 2008. Give Step by Step procedure for this. Thanks in Advance

backup database databasename file=logicalname todisk='d:\' backup log databasename todisk='d:\' Hope the above command will help you to backup the files

In simple way you can go to the direct location and copy the needed files as below C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.4\MSSQL\Data Here it will display all the mdf and ldf file you can directly copy from that location
