Setup and deployment .NET

Question

Hi everybody I'm using VS2008 for a local application using .NET and MS Access Database. I've created a Setup and MSI installation project and everything works fine. However due to the sensitive data contained in the DB I've been required to prompt the user with an installation folder where the DB will be stored (a standard edit field and browse button will do). I can't find a way to add it to the Installation Folder Form or add a specific form to be included in the Setup project. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Giovanni

There are various tools that can be used to make MSIs easier to create and maintain and there might be something in the tool you are using that will make it easier for you. If you use the Windows Installer software directly it will take time to learn. I did but it was a few years ago. I wrote a regular DLL in C++ that was executed in a setup to prompt for something; I forget what but I think it also prompted for a directory. I assume that the Windows Installer now supports managed code and I don't know how that works. If you provide more information about what you have then you are more likely to get help.
