Sharepoint add item to list using c#

Question

I can download document from sharepoint using webclient.downloadstringasync methodBut I am not able to add item to the list on sharepoint server. Please Help.

Hi I have added service reference to the link /_vti_bin/Lists.asmx in my project but I am not able to get UpdateListItems method in it what I get is ServiceReference1. ListsSoap I don't understand what I am missing? please help

There is no assembly Microsoft.SharePoint.SPContext (in my project) The link you provided is using the same I am very new to c# Can you please guide me in my Silverlight project how can I add this reference?

Hi My requirement is that I want to insert an item into a sharepoint list Using the SharePoint List WebService I am doing this in Silverlight project type I am using FedId to connect to the sharepoint online Moreover I can download the files from sharepoint by providing url to webclient.DownloadStringAsync method I am very new to this Please guide me how can I implement this
