SharePoint or ASP.NET MVC

Question

I have 3+ years of experience in Asp.net. Could you please suggest me which of the below are good option for career growth. 1.ASP.NET MVC JQuery 2. SharePoint Developer Module.

You're fine with ASP.NET/MVC. No need to switch to SharePoint. Just keep learning new technologies related to ASP.NET such as Web API SignalR JQuery etc.

Hi Srini As everyone recommended I would second them and will say - choose the one with which you are most comfortable and passionate about. I myself have gone through both the tracks i.e. SharePoint to ASP.NET MVC Developer and believe me technologies will always come and go however what remains is the knowledge and basics you gain out of those. Fundamentals will always be the same i.e. Web Development Server Client Http Scripting etc what really changes is the top layer i.e. new products and technologies built over these basics and fundamentals. Having said that It is always good to keep learning new technologies practically it is always beneficial to have a primary skill set with deep understanding of it and stage is always yours to explore the trends.

@Prasanth Ch Both technologies have its place in the market and both are awesome. But you have to ask yourself which technology you are most comfortable to work with and then have your pick. It isn't going to help you if you let other people decide which technology you are going to take. This is because if we pick things for you and you are not interested and passionate about it or worst not happy about it then you will grow in that field and just waste your time working with something that doesn't interest you.

Agree with Mahesh sir and Vidya sir. It is not very good to Switch technology. Better to be master of particular skillset. Be aware of sharepoint it is good but I will suggest learn and be master of ASP.Net webform MVC JQury. Try to learn new javascript framework. It will boost your career.

Hi Srinivas Both are very good I am not sure what is your very reason of considering Share Point when you have 3 years experience in ASP .NET. If I consider your experience than I would suggest ASP .NET MVC so your experience will be utilized and rewarded. just pick one and move on. Whereas if you start SharePoint then you will be almost a fresher in that field. So re-analyze your situation and career aspiration pick one and move on. Hope this helps. Best Wishes.

Hi Please help me I have confusion about my future I have a 5+ years of experience in ASP.NET last year i learned sharepoint 2013 but i am not worked in sharepoint 2013 I like to work in sharepoint compare to asp.net unfortunately now i got a project MVC with AngularJS I have the idea about mvc and angularjs another 2 to 3 months this project will finished after that i want to switch the company which one i have to prefer sharepoint 2013 or MVC with AngularJS ?
