In C# can you overload class destructors in C#? In C# what is the difference between a finalize (not to be confused with the 'finally' keyword) method and a dispose method?

Yes you can overload a destructor just like overloading a constructor just change its signature. However your C# destructor gets translated by the compiler into a Finalize method Finalize is a protected method of object and is called by the garbage collector when there are no longer any references to the object. You can override the Finalize method in your derived class BUT you most also call the base version inside your overridden method. If you must clean up resources such as database connections then use a Dispose method. Implement the IDisposable interface and it's Dispose method. Also call the static GC.SuppressFinalize to stop Garbage Collection. finally is part of the try catch block convention. It is placed at the bottom of a try catch and ALWAYS executes regardless of weather or not there was an exception thrown in the try block. Hope this helps
