Question

i have completd 1.7 year in a service based company with .NET background.My primary skill set is c#, asp.net, SQL Server 2012. I am trying for a switch. What will be the minimum expectations in the market for a .NET professional with above mentioned experience.

OK. Now on very serious note. Just prepare basics of C#ASP.NET and SQL. For 2 years exp guy this much should be sufficient. JD in many job portal are like desire. Not mandatory skill set. Just want to add something here. This is kind of tip:- If you answer basic question and don't answer advance question chances of seletion are more. On the other hand if you answer all advance question right but don't answer few basic question then chances will be very less.

Siva As per my experience it depend on interviewer. Interviewer will ask question based on his expertise. Your exp or speciality will hardly count. Usually many people will say it depends on project requirement. But practically nothing happens like that. One thing plays important role here is number of candidates competing against you. If you go for walk-in interview. For one job there will be 100-200 application. As per demand-supply chain competion will be war till last standing. They will grill all until they find one hero (Who will never join). Some time companies selectively calls people. Then chances of selection are high. Let me know if I answered your question. Hi Stanley The reason behind putting this question is when I check for opportunities in Job portals the prerequisites are very large like  they ask for SQL c# SSRS SSIS WCF JavaScript .NET JQuery etc. So I was bit confused how a company can expect these many things from a 1-2 year experienced guy. Hi Siva from that short info about yourself I would expect from you to be versed with some ORM (Entity Framework NHibernate or something else). Also I would expect a nice knowledge of ASP.NET MVC and WebAPI maybe I'm wrong and someone would actually expect ASP.NET WebForms... whatever is the case some front end knowledge would definitely be beneficial as well. Nevertheless if you are interested you could take a look at some programming aptitude tests on TestDome . Tests similar to these ones are often used as coding tests for an interviews so I hope you can get some practice with them. For example I would recommend you to try out these C# and SQL programming tests.
