Small firm or MNC

I have 2 years of experience working in Java technologies in a small firm. Here I had a splendid learning experience. But now it's time to switch and have an option of another small company and an MNC. I am confused because I will be working for just one more year in the company I am switching to. Then will change again So should I go into small firm so that I can learn there better or should I join MNC to add a brand name to my resume.

I would agree with Prasham. Adding to that, the important thing in the job is you love it and you are passionate about what you are doing. Regardless if the company is big or small, you can still find passion, work life balance and happiness in your job. It all depends on you.

Personal:
I have different experiences working from a small to big and popular firms and i found out working on small-mid is better because:
  • you can learn a lot of things
  • you can easily express ideas and share it directly to higher management
  • there's no politics, or at least politics is very less
  • there's no kiss-ass employees
  • more transparent in terms of work delegation
  • strong team bondings
  • work balance ( overtime is really discourage ~at least in my company)
  • and i got paid well

Final words:
Company doesn't really matters most in resume. What matters most is the experience you gain and the skills set you acquire.

Hi Ankit,

I would say it dosent matter whether we are working in small company or big company. At the end of the day what matters is Work satisfaction, money satisfaction, future perspective (which is mostly depends on us) and work life balance.  It completely with us which parameters we want  to consider.

If we are enjoying our work and balanced life then I would continue in the same company irrespective of big or small.

I hope I could clear your confusion at some extent :)
