Some Confusions About Web Service And WCF

Hi Every Body I am studying about web service and i have some questions about web service 1.Can we perform DML(mean update data  create delete ) using web service if yes then how it is possible ? if not why ? 2.Can we use web service instead of WCF if yes then what is the difference b/w web service and WCF. can any body clear my these questions.

Answer to your question 1. Yes. Just creating some SP and writing ADO.net code in [Web Method]s 2. Yes but web service is limited to its binding which means data can be transferred over HTTP protocol and we write routing for TCP protocol. Where as in WCF we simply configure our binding and use it to any endpoint.
