Split date from datetime in sharepoint

Question

hi i have a column with datetime type. here i set date only option . my requirment is when using object model to retrive item from this date column it returns me datetime . i want to split date from datetime 2/3/2011 4:5:34 i want only date 2/3/2011 can any one help

You can extract the date using code as follows: DateTime dt = DateTime.Parse(2/3/2011 4:5:34); DateTime dt2 = dt.Date; // drops the time component string dateString = dt2.ToString(M/d/yyy); // drops the 00:00:00 you get by default puts month before day
