SQL INSERT Statement

Which functions in Java and C# are similar to PHP's mysqli_real_escape_string()? please help one of my Java projects fails when it comes to inserting names like O'Brien into Database.

I know exatly the function of mysqli_real_escape_string() what I want is a similar function in Java and C#. My recently application is working just fine except when I want to insert a name that contains quote ('). I wrote the application in Java. All what I want is to find a way to able to insert such strings such as O'Brien. But thanks M CH for the reply anyway
