hi I have country dropdownlist I am binding it from database I want to display india first is it possible to with sql query

Hi  i agree with Jignesh if you are known to the index of India then you can use his code dropDownList1.SelectedIndex = 5; and if you dont know the index then try this Assuming that your Combobox is bind with a list of string having Country Names only foreach(string str in dropDownList1.ItemsSource) { if(str.Equals(India) { dropDownList1.SelectedItem = str; break; } } Here i had iterate the list in your dropDownList1 and when I find India just select that in your combobox and break the loop. Instead of doing there in the DB just do it on Code [C#]. If you are using C# ddl.Items.Insert(0 itemtobeinserted);
