start and stop sql server on a remote system

Hi How can we stop or start MSSQLSERVER by sqlservice manager using IP address. can we do this. plzz reply.. thanks.

You can use the service control manager and issue commands from your application.... here SC is built into Server 2003 and XP/Vista
