A static constructor is guaranteed to run before an instance of the type is created or any other static member of the type is accessed. It only runs (at most) once. This means that it is useful for initializing static fields which for some reason can't be initialized (or easily initialized) where they are defined. For example collections or other types of field which need several lines of code to initialize rather than just a simple expression.

Static methods are useful when we want to call the method without creating an object of that respective class. so when we are calling static class method if we want to use the values dynamically inside the method then we will go for static constructor. eg: public static int somevalue; class1.CallingStaticMethod(x); Class1() { if(x==10) somevalue=20; else somevalue=30; } CallingStaticMethod(int integervalue) { int result; result=somevalue+integervalue; }
