StatusBar.. Parent and Child Forms

Question

Does anyone know how to access the panels located on the Main Form(Parent) when a Child form is active?? By using: this.MdiParent.Controls[0] it returns that it is a status bar... and it tells me how many panels the panels collection contains... But i cannot access the panels... HELP!!! Much appreciation

use the same way of accessing the status bar but do an explicit cast to access the members.... ((StatusBar)this.MdiParent.Controls[0]).Caption = my text; or a more readable format... StatusBar tmpsb = (StatusBar)this.MdiParent.Controls[0]; tmpsb.Caption - my text;
