Thank you very much for giving reply Actually my problem is I have to display tags in differnt fonts and colors which i get this tags from a database and iam binding this to a linkbutton in a datalist here is my code objDS = objSoftwares.GetSoftwareTags(nFileID); sTags = objDS.Tables[0].Rows[0][ FileTag ].ToString(); sFtags = sTags.Split( '' ); dlTags.DataSource = sFtags; dlTags.DataBind();

you'll need to surround the strings in the array with html tags such as my string You can use the Response.Write(String.Format( {0}  nextString);
