You can create a DLL for your module and that DLL you can configure all your routes controllers actions and whatever you want. You can configure na MVC area so you can refrence that DLL in the main project. In your DLL module you can configure that area by creating a class and inheartited from AreaRegistration... sample: public class YourModuleAreaRegistration : AreaRegistration { public override string AreaName { get { return YourAreaName ; } } public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( ControllerName  Route  new { controller = ControllerName }); } } That will plug any configuration you want for that area.
