The code behind is the logic to split the design and code file separately. The web pages extension is .aspx and server code can be written on the same page. But the readability and maintainability this has divided. .aspx - design page .aspx.cs - code file It will allow the developers on code file and designers on .aspx page. This can be decided at the time of creation of .aspx page. When you add the new web page it will have option. Place code in Separate File This will split the code file into separate file with the extension of .cs Inline: The inline is technic where you can write the code and design on the same file.
