Technologies required for ASP.NET MVC

Hi Folks, What are the required technologies to learn for ASP.NET MVC? I am new to ASP.NET. Please list the required skills for ASP.NET MVC with WCF.

MVC is build on top of ASP NET, so if you brush up your fundamentals on ASP NET will be helpful Regarding WCF; its build on ASP NET Web Services so if you can brush up on Web Services will be helpful But not a mandate Many people directly start learning these technologies, but I believe in establishing Strong Foundation of Fundamentals; see what fits best for you

Hi, As Per me ASP.NET MVC is one of the technology. so If you have basic idea about web application is enough. MVC is design to work with ORM, so you should have knowledge about any ORM like EF. And of course you must have knowledge of at least one language like c# hope this will help you.

Agree with Vidya, you need a strong foundation. Note that these two have very, very little in common and I'm not sure if tackling both at once is a good idea. Nevertheless for WCF you need to learn what the SOA actually is and why it is useful then you can proceed further. For MVC well... you need a good grasp of web fundamentals, so try some HTML, CSS and JS programming tests to see how good you have that covered. Also regarding the ORM that Jignesh mentioned, well that is used anywhere so you just need to know that regardless of the used technology, nevertheless whatever you decide note that you can help yourself out by practising with some programming aptitude tests .
