technology used in a website

Dear all Can anyone tell me how can i know which technology is used(php/.net/java/html) in a website by simply browsing it?

Hi  with url only u cant say website is build in this technology. It can be combination of two or different technology as well. so you need to inspect element or view source code and check the link's Url and other things than only you will find proper solution.

You can check URL carefully. You can know that by looking pages extension. e.g. URL of this page is- http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Forums/Thread/294617/ ShowMessages.aspx? ThreadID=294617 This shows that website is built using asp.net technology. I hope my post has solved your query.

All use HTML JavaScript you can see if the website is responsive or usage of animations. You can detect PHP if the address bar contains .php same for .NET using .aspx. Java runs in an applet which you can detect by right-clicking. If the web server is configured properly you can only see the first two and the last one.

You can use a tool like this . If the webserver is well configured it might not be obvious to find that out. HTML they all use Javascript is easy to detect because it's visible too. Java doesn't run without the JRE. PHP sometimes exposes itself same for .NET Apache and IIS.
